Sustainable Facilities Management

Course Summary

The management of your facilities is incredibly important to the successful functioning of your business. Facilities management is often an overlooked profession. However, no business can function without building maintenance, health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and teams to clean and maintain a pleasant working environment.

Because facilities management is such an essential part of the business, it’s important that these teams aim for continuous improvement in all processes and increase efficiency to enable other departments to function to the best of their ability.

Sustainability is on everyone’s minds in the current environment. Becoming a more sustainable workplace not only makes an important contribution to the environment, but it could save your business money, make your processes and procedures more efficient, and ultimately, make the workplace more productive with motivated and positive employees.

Becoming a Sustainability Facilities Professional will allow you to dive into the procedures regarding facility management, assess risk areas and develop new processes which are more cost-effective, sustainable for the future, and improve the environment for your workforce.

  • To gain a better understanding of the role of facilities management within the wider business.
  • To develop roadmaps for change based on sustainable and efficient processes.
  • To take on feedback based on your current operation and make the necessary changes.
  • To develop a ‘togetherness’ culture that aims to link facilities management with the other departments.
  • To understand where costs could be reduced to help the overall success of the company.
  • To review products, services, and procedures to understand where the business could be more sustainable and make steps towards those changes.
  • To educate teams on sustainability measures and encourage them to report risk areas or areas for improvement.
