Whether you are the lead manager or a supervisor, you will be aware that construction is a more significant part of the cost when it comes to running a project, so good management can make all the difference. Many aspects need to come together to ensure the construction site manager has all the information to lead from the front, which is a skill in itself. A project starts with a feasibility study, then moves to the preliminary design, refinements leading to the final advanced design and cumulates in the procurement of materials and the construction itself.

In this course, you will learn just how important it is to have practical strategies and be skilled at efficiency. These are the critical competencies required for anyone involved and supervising or managing construction sites. Management personnel need to have both technical knowledge and managerial skills. A construction site must have strong leadership by skilled managers who understand working and motivating their team. Failure to do this can have high financial penalties for the project.

The skills taught will demonstrate all areas of management from project managing, affecting performance, meeting deadlines, techniques that drive project success and ensuring that results are achieved and there a no legal issues or pitfalls to contend with.

There may be some independent work set, and the course will involve a requirement to submit articles to demonstrate understanding and an end of course test. Note-taking is encouraged, and you are welcome to use electronic devices to do this.
