Course Summary

Modern workplace leadership requires IT skills alongside traditional traits like charisma, confidence, and organisation. This shift makes leadership roles more suited to those in the tech industry.

Effective leaders understand various styles, such as servant, paternalistic, authoritative, and transactional. Mastering these styles is the first step to becoming a leader. Success also requires interpreting and applying these styles, anticipating market changes, managing and developing employees, and boosting morale.

IT leadership aims to align IT expertise with business functions, enabling leaders to set goals, manage teams, and leverage technology to outperform competitors.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand what IT leadership skills are.
  • Understand the requirement for IT leadership skills.
  • Enhance management utilising digital technologies.
  • Develop the competencies necessary to implement new technology within the business.
  • Understand the constraints of technology and how to overcome them.
  • Know how to persevere when faced with adversity.

This course is designed for those in a heavily IT-influenced role and want to develop their skills to gain a better understanding of their current role or to progress further within the industry. It would be most beneficial for:
