Rural project development is vital within rural communities to ensure that all public functions work as necessary. Rural development primarily allows the opportunity to improve these functions to enable them to work more effectively. Rural livelihoods are incredibly important, and these must be supported and sustained to enable these individuals to live their daily lives with little inconvenience.
Project planning is a crucial step in rural development. Planning projects will allow those involved to gather a full picture of their goal, including the existing infrastructure, community expectations, and managing the necessary resources. Modern society has made a great shift toward sustainable practices, so planning should incorporate these as much as the rural infrastructure can sustain.
For any construction to occur, those involved must gain planning permission from the local authorities. They should be competent and educated on this process and what would be expected of them. They will need to not only explain their vision but also justify how it will benefit the community and negate any negative impacts that may occur.
This course uses a variety of adult learning styles to aid full understanding and comprehension. Participants will review real-world examples of rural development plans to highlight key features and how these can be adapted to sustainable functions.
There will be a variety of opportunities to develop knowledge and skills related to the taught content. Through a combination of presentations, demonstrations, individual, and group activities, the participants will be able to fully comprehend the taught content. Furthermore, working alongside their peers, they will be able to practise their skills with the support of tutors and receive constructive feedback.
