Within the education sector, there should also be a strong focus on providing adequate SEN education and care. It is essential for the learning environment to feel inclusive and provide the right education to all students, regardless of any disabilities, conditions or learning disabilities. Without SEN consideration, disabled students are at a much higher disadvantages than non-disabled students, and it will be much more difficult for them to succeed.


 

 

SEN education comes in many different forms, and as an education organisation, it is vital for these to be correctly managed. One of the main considerations for SEN education is the resources the school has available to provide SEN aid. SEN students often require additional attention and time from teachers and specialised equipment to lessen the disadvantage they are placed at. The responsibility falls onto the education provider to ensure they can meet these needs.

Safeguarding is the process of ensuring student safety, particularly for SEN students as they are considered vulnerable individuals. Calculating the cost of providing SEN provisions – teaching assistants and specialised equipment.
Implementing a EHC plan to help manage a student’s educational goals and methods to meet the desired outcome.
Conducting audits to identify teachers who are capable of effectively differentiating lesson plans, and those who lack the ability.
Managing TAs accordingly depending on SEN student needs at a particular time.
